Florida
In 1997, we packed up the van, and headed to Orlando, FL, to go to DisneyWorld on New Year's Eve, 1997. Tuomo Nissinen, our au pair at the time, was off on his own vacation, it turns out also in Florida. So, we're standing in lines waiting for rides with Rachel in her wheelchair, and it started to happen. A staff member would come out into the line and guide us right to the front of it. We had no idea this was a thing there.
At dinner, after dark, we were all eating a grotesquely overpriced burgers and fries dinner when we heard a tapping on the window next to our table. It was Tuomo! It turns out, he had gone to DisneyWorld on his own vacation. The kids were super happy to see him.
