Settling into retirement by working even harder.
Eileen's New Sourdough Obsession
Earlier this year, Eileen started to make sourdough bread after years of Bruce begging her to do so (he is diabetic). Then this month she started to make sourdough focaccia, which her foodie friends couldn't get enough of.
Girls Birthday Dinner
Every year we all get together for dinner at a decent restaurant to celebrate the birthdays of these 3 lovely women, whose birthdays all fall within a week of each other.
Bruce Finally Gets to See Metric Live
While Eileen was in Finland visiting her brother, Bruce finally got to see Metric at The Anthem in DC.
Napa, California
Photos were taken at three venues:
- Bistro Don Giovanni's (dinner)
- Far Niente (winery)
- Hot Air Balloon Ride (adventure)
E-bike Rides
Rather than have a separate page/gallery for each group e-bike ride Bruce went on, he decided to just put all those pictures in one place.
Wolf Trap Concerts
Eileen and Bruce love going to Wolf Trap to see performances at the Filene Center. This year there were several they just could not miss.
- Orville Peck - with August Ponthier and Kaitlin Butts (modern country)
- St. Vincent - with the NSO (alternative)
- Lindsey Stirling - with PVRIS (alternative and a bit o' Irish)
Pride Events
Eileen is heavily involved with the LGBTQIA+ community all over the DMV. This year she participated, primarily with PFLAG, in the Herndon, Mosaic, and DC Pride events.
A Bit of Connersville in Virginia?
Eileen combs the Reston/Vienna Buy Nothing Facebook group always looking for more junk we don't need. But one day, she came across someone who lives very close by giving away this antique dresser made in Connersville, IN.
Eileen in Finland
Eileen traveled to Finland to visit her brother, Lee, and his wife Kirsi. Bruce was not invited. Looks like good times were had (there).
