Bruce started working for Orbital Sciences Corp in 1999 on geostationary satellite embedded software a few years after working on the FUSE spacecraft at APL.
These photos show Bruce's office environment at the Germantown, MD, "Bellmeade" building, as well as the spacecraft and its development and integration teams. This location, the main campus for which you see in the distant photo (and since razed), was previously owned/leased by Fairchild Space and Defense, a division of Fairchild that Orbital acquired. This job eventually led to Bruce's direct hire as an Orbital employee, but more on that later (maybe).
