Capt. David J. Vogel is Bruce's half-brother from their father's first marriage. Dave retired from the Navy in December 2001.
Dave was still married to Theresa Cruz at the time, but they were to be divorced soon thereafter. We drove all our kids plus our au pair, Christina Nilsson, to New Orleans. They and Eileen all stayed behind and did not attend Dave's ceremony.
